Gelatin for Blackheads. Does It Work?

20160326_095207 My nose is a problem area for me so I have been looking for solutions to get rid of blackheads in that area. In my research I ran across a lot of posts on gelatin for blackheads so I decided to try it out. It’s only two ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp Gelatin

1 1/2 Tbsp Milk

I mixed the gelatin and milk together. I only had almond so I tried using it hoping I’d get the same results. I place the gelatin mixture in the microwave for 15 seconds. When it’s ready, I mixed it well and applied immediately to my face. It smells pretty bad but it’s unnoticeable after a few minutes. I let it sit on my face for 15 minutes (or until dry). My face became very stiff. Once dry I tried moving every muscle in my face to make it easier to peel off. 20160326_095457

Results:

After I peeled the gelatin mask off my face my face was very smooth. I noticed more fine hairs on the strips than blackheads but I did see some blackheads on the strips. So, does it work? Yes but I think it left some blackheads behind. I like how my face felt afterwards so I’d probably try it again. At least until I use up all the gelatin I already have.

6 Ways to Refresh your Natural Hair & Scalp after a Workout | Natural Hair Rules!!!

Sometimes I hesitate to workout because I worry about my head sweating and it’s not good to wash your hair all the time. I never really knew what to do after a workout. I love essential oils, peppermint and tea tree are among my favorites. This is very useful information.

When it comes to working out, natural hair can have its benefits but a lot of women such as myself do a lot of sweating in the scalp when staying active. Sweat is pretty much water just and salt but over time this mixture can wreak havoc on your natural hair strands by drying out the hair, which can ultimately lead to breakage. For some women who are in the gym or working out 2-3 times a week or more, having to wash your natural strands after every workout may be impractical and inconvenient. So, what’s a curly girl to do? We got you covered with these 6 Tips to Refresh Your Hair and Scalp

She looks so amazing! Black women continue to redefine traditional standards of beauty everyday by embracing their natural beauty and I love it.

“I told my agent I wanted to walk in the Victoria’s Secret show with my natural hair,” Borges told entertainment news reporter B. Scott, who posted on Instagram. “I was nervous, but I had to do it. When they said ‘yes’ I didn’t expect it, but I was so happy!”

Sea Breeze Astringent On Locs

20150603_190753

Uses:

Attacks Clogged Pores & Trapped Oil. For the Treatment of Acne. Cleans blackheads.

Ingredients:

Salicylic Acid 2% (Acne Medication).

Product Review:

I learned of the benefits of Sea Breeze on my scalp from my stylist. I have an issue with dry scalp so between each washing I have to apply Sea Breeze to a towel and rub my scalp between the locs. Leaves my scalp feeling clean and definitely helps my hair last until I wash it again.

My Hair May Be Loc’d…

My mom purchased this t-shirt for me for a Christmas present from http://mynappyishappy.bigcartel.com/. I’m becoming somewhat of a t-shirt collector so I absolutely love it. “My hair may be loc’d but my spirit is free”.

Cucumber, Beets, Spinach, Carrots and more!

Ingredients

handfuls of organic spinach

handful of organic carrots

1 organic beet (peeled)

2 organic oranges

1/2 inch piece of ginger root

1 organic cucumber

Verdict – I made this juice a few days ago and I honesty can’t remember what it tasted like.  I’m having a hard time lately getting the beets down and I remember the flavor of the beets being very strong.  I mention before I prefer beet juices on ice and I didn’t add ice this time.  Next time, I think I’ll try this recipe with half of a beet.

Perfect Fitting Skinny Jeans

I have always had the hardest time finding skinny jeans that fit me properly. Even though I’m kinda thin I have always had thick legs and thighs making it almost impossible to find skinny jeans that fit me throughout. I wear a size 7 pant but would buy my skinny jeans in a size 11 just so I wouldn’t have to cut myself out of them at the end of the day. This was until I discovered the Foxy Super Skinny Jeans by YMI at Dots. I absolutely love the skinny jeans there, they fit me perfectly and in my right size. Success!!
