My Secret Love…

Occasionally, I like to write about things other than hair, just because there is more to life than just hair. Anyway, my secret love is the Sims 3.  I’ve been a Sims Franchise  fan for a long time now.  I usually don’t let people know about that, but I’m here to confess… I love playing the Sims!!

I’m sure there are more Sims fans out there (and if there are, please let me know where I can find natural hair styles!!).  Well, I created a blog regarding my Sims 3 habit called Sims 3: Family Moments.  If you are a Sims fan, be sure to check it out.  If you don’t even know what the heck the Sims even are, that may be an even better reason to check out the site.

OK, back to hair…

My Black is Beautiful

From the color of my skin, to the texture of my hair, to the length of my strands, to the breadth of my smile,

To the stride of my gait, to the span of my arms, to the depth of my bosom, to the curve of my hips, to the glow of my skin,
My Black is Beautiful.

It cannot be denied. It will not be contained. And only I will define it.

For when I look in my mirror, my very soul cries out,
My Black is Beautiful.

And so today, I speak it out loud, unabashedly, I declare it anew,
My Black is Beautiful.

Whether celebrated, imitated, exploited or denigrated. Whether natural from inside or skillfully applied,
My Black is Beautiful.

To my daughters, my sisters, my nieces, my cousins, my colleagues and my friends,
I speak for us all when I say again,
My Black is Beautiful.

My Black is Beautiful celebrates the beauty of every African-American woman. Join the movement, and learn more at www.MyBlackisBeautiful.com.

Global B.I.O Campaign

How will YOU redefine beauty?

Women of every age, race, religion, and ethnicity have struggled in their lives with the narrow concept of beauty. Every girl’s unique look is important – from the thin, plus-sized, short, very tall, ebony to porcelain skinned, the quirky, clumsy, shy, outgoing and all in between.

Join the call to action and let them know what YOU will do to redefine beauty Inside & Out! Visit, www.tyra.com.

I joined the call and made a pledge to keep it natural and inspire other women who are curious but afraid to make the transition to naturalness by showing them natural hair is beautiful hair.

Scholarship Links

From time to time I post non hair related interesting links. Lately I’ve been working on posting links for scholarships to the top 5 schools (Top 5 list developed by Diploma Guide.com) in all 50 states in the United States. So far, I have scholarship links to the top 5 schools in about 15 states. I will continue adding to this list. To check out these scholarship links, go my my CB Publishing website here: scholarship links

Tribute

This is not hair related, but my sister has created some graphics in honor of some of our fallen stars. These are great for websites and forums. She also has some very nice natural hair blinkies. Check it all out here:Rose Within Designs
